The world’s greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway Musical that is one of theatre’s finest accomplishments. Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is transported to modern-day New York City as two young idealistic lovers find themselves caught between warring street gangs, the “American Jets” and the “Puerto Rican Sharks”. Based on Hans Christian Andersen's "The Ugly Duckling", “Honk!” tells the story of an odd looking baby duck, Ugly, who is lost and is on a quest to find his mother. Soon after Ugly is born, he is seduced away by a wily Cat who wants to eat Ugly for dinner. Eventually, Ugly manages to escape but has no idea how to return home. Along his way, he encounters a beautiful swan, Penny, tangled in a fishing line. After saving her, the two birds fall in love. However, she must return to her flock and fly south for the winter.  Eventually, Ugly’s mother finds him frozen in the snow. Luckily, her warm tears manage to thaw him out and he comes back to life – as a handsome swan! Soon, Ugly is reunited with Penny and two swans decide to live the rest of their days in the same pond as Ugly’s loyal mother. “Honk Jr.” is a great reminder of all the things we hope kids will learn… accept others for who they are, regardless of appearance; remember that being different is okay; and that out there, somewhere, someone’s going to love you…warts and all.

Damien Carriere - Grand Stage Award Winning Magician

Damien has 'headlined' sold out night clubs and theatres throughout North America and even performed on the Great Wall Of China. He also had the privilege of being the opening act for the well-known Canadian Children's entertainer Fred Penner. Damien has won international awards for his own, original tricks including his Gold Medal Winning "Imagination Vacation" routine and his heart-stopping handcuff, chains, rope and shrink-wrap "Mummification Escape".

This spring Polish Canadian Jazz Society are honoured to have Krzesimir Debski and String Connection at the Terry Fox Theatre, the legendary Polish Jazz Group hailed by European and Polish jazz critics as one of the most interesting bands.

Let Your Music Shine with Lisa & Lucy children's entertainers:

Music Shine Media is pleased to announce the newest addition to their performance team: Lucy Horton. Lucy has been a part of the "Let Your Music Shine" stage productions for a number of years as production assistant and special guest performer. She is currently attending the University of Washington studying Music Education and can be seen performing in their advanced choirs. Lucy is also an active and successful songwriter whose influences include jazz legends, French composers, and indie rock artists. She released her debut CD of originals "LUCY SINGS" in 2010. We are excited to welcome her sparkly performance style and musical excellence to the stage. Welcome to the team Lucy!

Lisa Grace Allison (M.A. Music Education) is the Artistic Director for Music Shine Media. She blends her skills in costuming, scripting, and directing to help bring "the very best music for the very young" to the Vancouver stage. In addition, she is co-producer of the award-winning products of Music Shine Media and lead-editor for the film projects. As board member for the Grammy's, Lisa participates in professional development for musicians in the Seattle area as well as advocating for musician causes and concerns. Lisa is also a sought-after vocal/songwriting coach for young artists in the Pacific Northwest.

What began as Celtic has moved into a spirited no-boundaries exploration of music that inspires. The result is a full-spectrum musical experience that defies conventional labels.
