How about something in the realm of a full orchestra and chorus, jammin' out Christmas tunes to the flavour of some 60's swing, rock 'n roll, beautiful ballads, and full on production numbers? What if there were some great dancers in the mix as well, and a splash of musical star power? Sounds like a good show, yes? Well then, grab some tickets to James Productions' Christmas Pops! 2010, and be at the Terry Fox Theatre in Port Coquitlam this Thursday-Sunday -- it just might rock your socks off!
Christmas Pops! has a history of wowing audiences. They generally leave the theatre humming the tunes and brimming over with Christmas spirit -- and no wonder! The show features some of the best talents that the Lower Mainland has to offer. The director -- and the James in James Productions -- James Bryson has been a force on the local musical theatre scene for years, including a 22 year run as the musical director of Royal City Musical Theatre Company. Christmas Pops! was the debut show of JP back in 1999, and has been going strong ever since.
This year's show features the return of pianist and recording artist Diane Lines, who, along with her solo work, played with Michael Buble for two years. Jazz vocalist Jennifer Hayes will also be featured. She performs around the world and is a front singer for another local Vancouver favourite, the Dal Richards Orchestra.
